NBC Schedule

Variety reports on the new NBC schedule.

The good news is that Heroes is back, and they also have a short spin-off called Heroes: Origins. Origins will be six 1-hour shows, each showcasing a new hero we’ve never seen before. At the end of the series, you’ll be able to vote on the web for who you want added to the regular show.

They’re also adding The Bionic Woman, starring some Brit I’ve never heard of. Her name’s Michelle Ryan, and she’s looker, but doesn’t remind you at all of Lindsay Wagner. Still, from this photo, I wouldn’t mind trying out a Sleep Number bed with her:

Gone is Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Boo! And The Black Donnely’s, which I never watched, but would have had I known Paul Haggis was behind it. Oh well.

  1. Sounds like a retarded experiment. Who would want to see “The Bionic Woman?” That’s got to be the lamest of the 70’s series. Wait, I forget about the “Bionic Dog.”

Actually, since the folks that did “Galactica” are involved, perhaps there’s a really good chance that this could be a winner. I mean, who would have thought that a remake of Galactica would be any good?? They tried it with “Galactica 1980” and it was a real flop. It took a gender-transplant for Starbuck to turn the franchise around.

  2. You remembered the bionic dog, but left out Sasquatch! I don’t remember if Sasquatch was bionic or not. And then there were the fembots. BTW, the very first movie I can remember seeing in the theater was Sasquatch:

    I must’ve been 4 years old.

Yeah, overall, Bionic Woman is a big “wait and see”. But the babe kinda looks like a brunette Cameron Diaz, at least in that pic. And I do like Galactica.

  3. That sucks about Studio 60. But if I had to choose between that or 30 Rock, it’s a no-brainer with the latter. The Black Donnelly’s wasn’t that bad but it may have done better if they waited until The Sopranos was finished.

But I’m definitely looking forward to the Origins series and even more for the next season of Heroes. Seemed like a lot of people were under the impression that it was a one-season deal. And I think I had bought into that after awhile.

Even the season finale of Smallville was great! I expect there to be some major changes in the next season.

  4. In the beginning, Studio 60 was much better done, and I enjoyed learning about the industry. I’m glad I stuck with 30 Rock, though, because it has gotten much funnier. “By the hammer of Thor!” I’ve really gotta start using that more in everyday conversations. That and “By the power of Greyskull!” (from Hot Fuzz, which was awesome).

I like Smallville, but I’m getting tired of waiting for him to learn how to fly. And I didn’t like their take on Bizzaro. But the girls are hot, so I hope they all return next season.
