Definitely a tribute film to Superman and Superman II. You could sense the respect the filmmakers had for those classics. Kevin Spacey was perfect as Luthor. Only lost it once when he goes over the top; otherwise he's got the lurking-danger-under-calm-surface perfectly. He almost made me forget Gene Hackman. Not a spoiler: does anyone else have privacy-issue problems with Superman and some of his behaviors?? Sure he can listen in on conversations and see thru walls and fly into your room in the middle of the night. But SHOULD he???
